BSC 2019: Rewind

The newest edition of BSC is taking place next week Friday, 31st January – 1st February. We think now is a good time to take a quick retrospective at BSC 2019’s event. Let’s take a gander at some of the highlights from last year’s show and see if we can find any indicators for what to expect this year!

Firmware Updates & Product Upgrades

These days you can expect new additions to your camera even years after it’s initial release. Sony VENICE is no exception and BSC 2019 was used to announce some exciting updates. This included the firmware V4.0 update for higher frame rates that saw a lot of DOPs and documentary filmmakers excited. It was also a chance for Sony to reveal the RIALTO Venice Extension Block.

Panasonic also took the chance to announce a new firmware upgrade for the EVA1. Their version 3.0 firmware update added 4K60p in 10bit 4:2:0 recording capability. Other exciting new features included IP Live Control and support for Canon lens CN-E70-200mm T4.4 L IS KAS S.

Top-Teks will be displaying CINE lenses by Fujinon & Tokina, as well as the new FX9 and VENICE featuring a version 5.0 upgrade. See us at stand 545.
