IBC 2019, one of the most anticipated shows for the industry is less than a month away. Now in its 52nd year, this edition promises insights into what the big brands are launching on the market. We already heard product announcements from Blackmagic Design and Canon (with rumours of more to come from the latter) and even heard of exclusive demos to take place.
What is IBC?
If you are new to the industry and haven’t heard of IBC before, it is short for the International Broadcasting Convention and takes places every year in Amsterdam. With the tagline “The World’s Most Influential Media, Entertainment & Technology Show” it plays host to members of the broadcasting and entertainment industry, showcasing the latest products and innovations in the field.
What Can You see?
At Top-Teks we are of course interested in the latest developments for cameras & accessories. Last year we saw everything from AR headsets to how AI will shape broadcasting. Sony and Blackmagic are bringing their newly announced cameras Alpha A7R IV and Pocket Cinema Camera 6K for display. New Canon cameras are rumoured left, right and centre. Panasonic is expected to unveil a set of new lenses to add to their Lumix line. Whether any of the rumours are to be believed is yet to be seen. But IBC is the place to find out!
We are also excited to visit IBC’s Future Zone again. The area prides itself on showing off the newest technologies at different life cycle stages and is exciting for both camera fans, as well as people with a general interest in technology. This year will see demonstrations from the likes of BBC, Nokia Technologies and Vision 3.
You can check out the IBC website for more information and how to get tickets to the event. And if you can’t go, make sure to keep up with our blogs and social media for IBC highlights!
