Litepanels have started a refund program for anybody that paid for a repair to the Power Board of their Astra Light that was purchased pre March 2018.
Statement by Vitec:
This week we will be rolling out an extended repair and voucher program to address quality perceptions that have developed in the market about the Litepanels ASTRA product. This perception has been caused by failure rates which exceeded our quality standards.
An investigation – following a rise in the number of repair requests for ASTRA lights – found that the performance of the power switch in a limited number of these units did not meet Litepanels demanded quality levels. All units shipped after March of 2018 incorporate a redesigned power board which resolved the issue.
Upholding its commitment to designing products of the highest quality, Litepanels is, subject to the terms of the program, offering to provide a free repair for any ASTRA light that exhibits this issue irrespective of whether the original limited warranty has previously expired. This offer is valid for up to four (4) years from the original purchase date. Subject to the terms of the offer, any customer who has previously paid for a repair to fix this issue may claim a €200 or £200 voucher credit per Astra light. This voucher can be redeemed against any Vitec Production Solutions brand; Anton/Bauer, Autocue, Autoscript, Litepanels, OConnor, Sachtler and Vinten.

Customers must register their eligibility by December 1, 2019, and redeem their voucher by December 15, 2019.
Once the customer’s information has been verified by our Sales Support Team in Garching for EMEA or Lesley Yang and Adam Koh for APAC, an email will be sent to the customer with a voucher code in the amount of €200 or £200 that may be used on any Vitec Production Solutions product(s) (with a minimum total value of €200 or £200).
To redeem the voucher the customer should contact the partner they purchased the products from to verify their voucher and process the order. The process is as follows:
· Once a customer has been assigned a voucher credit they will place their order directly with the partner.
· To verify the voucher is valid, partners will enter the customer’s claim code and verify their name here: http://go.vitecgroup.com/check
· Once their information has been verified, partners will create a PO as usual and include the Promo Code: ASTRAVOUCHER-CLAIM#XXXX to receive the VPS credit.
End-users (e.g. Broadcasters) who bought ASTRA lights directly from us have two options: they can either redeem their voucher directly with us, working with customer support on their next PO; or they can redeem the voucher at one of our authorized Litepanels partners.
