New Venice V4.0 has arrived!

Upgrading for Venice cameras to V4.0 has officially started at Top Teks! Taking around four hours, this includes a processor change and for some units a Power Board change.

Remote Control Function

Certainly one highlight of Sony's new upgrade is allowing control of a Venice from Sony Remote Controls such as the RM-B170 and the RCP-1500 series. With this you can now use the Venice in a camera chain, ideal as we see an increase in requests coming through for multi-camera work using LF cameras. Similarly, you can use third party Fibre adaptors, or just use the 12G output.

Key features:

• BT2020 can be selected now.
• Monitor Out now supports Pure-P output for 50P and 59.94P.
• Lens Metadata is now added for RAW, XOCN and XAVC Recordings.
• The Venice Viewfinder, DVF-EL200 has added functions on the Assignable Buttons including Rec Command and VF Display.

High Frame Rate

V4.0 allows the purchase of the HFR Option giving the following additional Frame Rates. (CBKZ-3610H)

6K           3:2          26 to 60fps

4K           4:3          49 to 60fps, 66, 72 & 75 fps

4K           17:9        66, 72, 75, 88, 90, 96, 100 & 110fps

4K           2.39:1    120fps

Flexible Licence Plans

HFR option CBKZ-3610H comes in three flavours: permanent, monthly or weekly. Weekly licences are perfect if you don’t use HFR regularly. At £158.00 per week, you can buy multiple licenses in one go as the clock doesn’t start ticking until you use the key. Therefore, picking a weekly fee can be a lot more cost-effective for many users and simpler when it comes to budgeting shoots!
