The Base Kit for Sony VENICE Extension System Mini provides a versatile and streamlined foundation for professional Sony shooters. Featuring a complete camera cage, Sliding Top Handle, and Top Bar Bracket, this kit expands your rigging possibilities while preserving the compact form factor that makes the VENICE Extension Mini so powerful.

Designed to enhance — not obstruct — the camera’s core features, the Base Kit maintains full access to vents, cable routing, and drop-in ND filters, ensuring seamless operation in any shooting environment.

Engineered for maximum flexibility, the Base Kit offers extensive mounting options in a lightweight package:

• 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 threaded points
• MAP M4 mounting holes
• Anti-twist locating pins for secure accessory support
• Integrated QD sockets
• Cold Shoe mount
• Dual 15mm rod brackets

The Top, Rear, and Side Plates are precision-machined to match the camera’s shape while providing secure mounting for monitors, EVFs, wireless transmitters, lens motors, and more.

Sliding Top Handle for Balanced Operation

The included Sliding Top Handle is ideal for carrying and handheld shooting. Mounted via dual 1/4”-20 screws, it can slide forwards or backwards to achieve optimal balance based on your lens and accessory configuration.

Additional QD sockets and a Cold Shoe mount provide further expansion options, and the handle can be paired with extensions to create a fully customised top-handle setup.

Integrated 15mm Rod Support

The Top Bar Bracket attaches to the base of the Top Handle and adds dual 15mm rod support for mounting EVFs, lens control systems, and other accessories. The bracket can be flipped to position the rods higher or lower above the lens line, offering flexible configuration for different builds.

Despite its extensive customisation capabilities, the Base Kit maintains a slim profile. Each plate adds just over one centimetre of thickness and minimal weight thanks to its aerospace-grade anodised aluminium construction.

Assembly

All required screws are included. A 4mm Hex Key is required for installation.

Top Plate to Camera

1. Align the Top Plate in a U-shape, ensuring vents and ND slot remain unobstructed.
2. Tighten securely using a 4mm Hex Key.

Top Handle to Top Plate

1. Align 1/4”-20 threads.
2. Secure with the two included screws.

Top Bar Bracket to Top Handle

1. Align the 3/8” screw and choose high or low positioning.
2. Tighten fully.

Side Plate(s) to Camera

1. Align with screws and text facing upwards.
2. Secure tightly.

Rear Plate to Camera

1. Align with text upright.
2. Tighten securely.

Compatibility
