The Format 4x4 Supermist Black 4 is a heavy diffusion filter designed to create a pronounced softening effect with visible halation around light sources and highlights. As a grade 4 in the Supermist Black range, it provides a strong blooming effect, significantly reduces contrast, and smooths skin textures- making it ideal for dream sequences, stylized visuals, and atmospheric cinematography.

Unlike traditional white mist filters, the black particulate in the Supermist Black softens highlights while preserving more shadow detail and edge contrast. This version is best used when a very dramatic diffusion effect is desired.
