IBC 2019: Round-up

Another IBC in Amsterdam has come to a close. We had a busy time seeing lots of new things and meeting different brands. Here is a round-up of our IBC 2019 adventure and the products we saw.

Day 1

We started off IBC by heading to the Sony hall to check out their latest product launches. This included the much talked about Sony FX9. Sony also presented their new Sony PXW-Z750, a new 4K camera unveiled a few weeks ago in Beijing. The Z750 shoots in 4K and comes with a 3-chip CMOS Global Shutter sensor system. We are expecting it to hit the market early next year.

The Sony hall also featured the new Sony DWR-S03D, a digital 2-channel receiver, while also showing off their UWP-D series. We also got a look at new Sony Master Series ZG9 screens, which feature beyond stunning clarity. The Sony Bravia displayed 8K images shot by a Sony camera in Venice, Italy. Sony Crystal LED displayed a car race, again with incredible image.

After the Sony hall we visited Dedolights to see their new KINOFLO range, including LED lights and panels. More excitingly, we saw IDX unveiling their Micro Batteries, a new range that will feature batteries with different mounts and plates. We are expecting them to hit the market December/January.

Day 2

Our second day started off brilliantly as we were honoured at the Vinten awards. We won the award for highest growth and revenue in sales for Vinten, and highest growth and revenue for production solutions for Vintec. We feel very proud to be recognized and look forward to carrying on collaborating with Vinten in the future.

The Vinten awards weren’t the only awards we took part in. Our head of sales Mike Thomas was invited on the judging panel for the Rise awards honouring women in broadcasting. We want to say a massive well done to everyone nominated and a big congrats to the winners!

Back to IBC, and straight on to Hollyland displaying their latest wireless transmission system. We saw the Mars 400S (mounted on a Sony Z150) which will hit the market very soon. It comes with a 400ft range and you can view the mars range here.

Panasonic debuted their new 8K camera system with an 8K organic sensor. It is the first in the world to have a sensor of its kind! Panasonic will have it ready for action at next year’s Olympics and we can’t wait to see the impact it will have on sports broadcasting.

This pretty much sums up our time at IBC this year. We will skip the many drinks-fuelled networking sessions we had with other brands for another time! For now, we look forward to all the new products becoming available and will keep you updated for pre-orders and demo kits.
