Sony FX9 Version 2.0 Firmware

During a virtual NAB brief, Sony announces their upcoming Sony FX9 V2.0 Firmware Update. The update is available now free of charge. Based on feedback Sony FX9 users, this will see the FX9 gaining significant new capabilities.

Expand Shooting Capability

  • Full-frame 4K 60p/50p recording with oversampling (image sensor scan size is around 5K)
  • 16 bit RAW output (with XDCA-FX9)
  • FHD 180fps shooting with Full-Frame capturing
  • DCI 4K recording
  • Adds User 3D LUT function
  • Adds HDR shooting function with Hybrid Log Gamma
  • Increased upper limit of Gain Setting

Improve AF Operation

  • Eye AF
  • Focus touch control
  • Adds assignable function of focus performance (Transition  speed and Subject shift sensitivity)

Quick Menu Control

  • Touch operation of status screen

Other

  • Support 6G-SDI
  • Support DWX digital wireless audio receiver (XDCA-FX9)
  • Support XLR-K3M with digital I/F
  • Adds display IRIS as T number for Cinema Lens Series such as SELC1635C
