A 20.3 megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor combines with the latest Venus processing engine to bring you superb detail, as well as low noise, fantastic, colours and brightness.
Capture every moment thanks to the new DFD-Auto Focus with Burst Mode delivering the world's fastest AF. Take advantage of advanced tracking performance, shooting at fastest-in-class 20fps with continuous AF for super-speedy subjects. The focus locks in just 0.04 seconds, and tracks motion continuously, helping you make the most of those opportunities that appear and disappear and disappear in the blink of an eye.
Take advantage of the G9's small size and weight to move with the action. Shoot with confidence thanks to Dual Image Stabilisation which delivers up to 6.5 stops of compensation for sharp shots in a range of conditions. Lumix G lenses are much more comact than equivalent DLSR lenses, giving you the flexibility to shoot from a distance with a telephoto lens and still keep things crisp.
When speed is of the essence, use the innovative 6K Photo function to catch the unexpected. Shoot a sequence at 30 frames per second, then extract the best moment (in-camera) as an up to 18 megapixel JPEG. Ideal for shooting nature and wildlife, 6K Photo can also be extremely useful for action and sports photography.
A new High Resolution Mode delivers 80 megapixel (equivalent) images in both JPEG and RAW - ideal for landscape, macro and nature photographers. Incredible detail and depth is rendered by combining 8 images taken while shifting the sensor - just make sure your subject stays still for the duration of the shot.
Worlds fastest burst shooting:
The LUMIX G9 also boasts the fastest-in-class 20 fps (AFC) / 60 fps (AFS) in 20.3-megapixel full resolution to capture those unmissable moments. Complying with 6K/4K PHOTO, users can choose the most suitable burst shooting mode in addition to the regular consecutive shooting mode depending on the situation.
80 megapixel high resolution mode:
The LUMIX G9 achieves the highest-ever image quality in photo shooting by elevating resolution, gradation and colour reproduction with its 20.3-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor. A High Resolution mode is also added that provides stunning 80-megapixel equivalent images in JPEG /RAW formats in the camera.
Worlds fastest AF:
The high-speed, high-precision AF with Depth from Defocus (DFD) technology achieves the world’s fastest AF speed of 0.04 sec, which is the fastest in the industry. With its high tracking performance, the LUMIX G9 never loses the target.
Dual Image stabilisation:
The Body I.S. (Image Stabilizer) in the LUMIX G9 is dramatically improved, making it possible to use 6.5-stop slower shutter speed. Combining Body Image Stabilisation 5-axis, Optical Image Stabilisation 2-axis, in the LUMIX G9 compensates for larger movements that were conventionally uncontrollable. The 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 works for both photo and motion picture recording, including 4K video.
The industry’s highest margination EVF:
The LUMIX G9 has the largest-in-class Live View Finder with a stunningly high magnification ratio of approx.1.66x / 0.83x (35mm camera equivalent). No blackouts occur even in high-speed burst shooting. Adoption of OLED for the LVF achieves smooth display at 120 fps and high speed response with minimum lag.
New status LCD:
The largest-in-class Status LCD on the top makes shooting even easier and more comfortable. For the rear monitor, a 3.0-inch free-angle LCD in 3:2 aspect with 1,040K-dot high resolution is equipped.
