Sigma Art 30mm F/1.4 is now available from SIGMA’s Art line.

This Sigma DC series lens has been designed exclusively for APS-C format digital SLR cameras and has been optically configured for these cameras.

It is a large aperture standardd lens which gives an equivalent field of view to a 45mm lens on a 35mm format digital SLR. Its extra-wide f/1.4 maximum aperture allows smooth bokeh (defocus), superb control over depth of field and strong low light performance as well as a bright viewfinder image.

As part of the “A” or Art Series, the 30mm f1.4 lens has been made to concentrate on optical quality and usability over range of features. Optically there is optimised power distribution for minimised curvature of field so images are sharp right into the corners of the frame. The lens also features a double aspheric lens for low spherical aberration, astigmatism and coma. Also there is a rear focus system which prevents focus-influenced variations in aberrations. During focusing there is no change in length of lens and no rotation of the front lens barrel, thus making focusing accurate and predictable as well as the lens being well suited to the fitment of filters. Focusing is actuated by the HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) for fast and quiet focusing with the ability to manually override at will.

The lens has been designed at every stage to reduce flare and ghosting as well as having Super Multi Layer coatings, so these unwanted effects are reduces to a minimum. The brand new “A1” MTF measuring system has also been employed for the most accurate testing system to date.

With a hard plated brass bayonet mount and compatible with Sigma’s optional USB dock for firmware upgrades.
