Sony HDC-3100 System Camera and HDCU-3100 CCU with HZC-PRV50 Software License
The Sony HDC-3100 and HDCU-3100 form a high-performance studio camera and control unit system designed for live, high-definition (HD) production with IP and 4K capabilities.
The HZC-PRV50 licence enables progressive recording and output formats, specifically 1080/50p and 1080/59.94p This allows your camera to capture and transmit full progressive HD video, which delivers smoother motion and higher image quality compared to interlaced formats—especially important for live sports and fast-action content.
HDU-3100 System Camera
Raise the standard of live production with the Sony HDC-3100 system camera, engineered to deliver outstanding image quality, creative control, and operational flexibility.
Designed for demanding broadcast environments, the HDC-3100 features a next-generation 2/3-inch CMOS sensor with advanced global shutter technology. This eliminates motion artefacts such as the “jello effect” and banding, ensuring consistently clean, stable images with low noise and excellent sensitivity—even in challenging lighting conditions.
The camera supports a wide range of HD formats up to 1080/50p, with seamless integration into 4K workflows via compatible camera control units. This flexibility allows production teams to adapt easily to different broadcast requirements while maintaining exceptional picture quality.
Built-in optical fibre transmission enables reliable, high-bandwidth signal transfer over long distances, making the HDC-3100 ideal for studio and outside broadcast applications. Its compatibility with Sony HDCU series control units ensures smooth system integration and efficient operation.
Creative possibilities are further enhanced with powerful image control features, including advanced gamma settings for precise tonal adjustment and Low-key Saturation for richer colour reproduction in darker areas. Whether capturing subtle detail or bold contrast, the HDC-3100 gives you full control over your visual style.
Supporting simultaneous HDR and SDR production through Sony’s SR Live workflow, the camera streamlines modern broadcast pipelines while reducing equipment demands.
The Sony HDC-3100 is a versatile, high-performance solution for broadcasters seeking premium HD imaging with the flexibility to grow into 4K and HDR production.
Please note: certain advanced features require optional software licences to activate.
HDCU-3100 Camera Control Unit
Add IP production capabilities to system cameras
Enhance your live production workflow with the Sony HDCU-3100 Camera Control Unit, designed to bring advanced IP capabilities and seamless system integration to a wide range of Sony broadcast cameras.
Compatible with everything from flagship 4K models to established HD system cameras, the HDCU-3100 connects via optical fibre to deliver power, signal processing, and reliable interfacing with external broadcast equipment—all from a compact, efficient unit.
For IP-based production environments, the HDCU-3100 can be paired with the optional HKCU-SFP30 interface board, enabling support for SMPTE ST 2110 standards. This allows essential live production features such as tally, intercom, and return signals to be handled efficiently across managed IP networks.
The unit also offers a clear upgrade path to 4K and HDR workflows. By adding the optional HKCU-UHD30 processor board, users can enable 4K output when working with compatible HDC-series cameras. Additionally, the HKCU-SDI30 interface kit allows 4K signals to be transmitted over a single 12G-SDI (BNC) cable, simplifying cabling and setup.
Compact, scalable, and IP-ready, the HDCU-3100 is a powerful control solution for modern broadcast and live production environments.
Please note: certain advanced features require optional hardware and software licences for activation.
