This control unit is the ideal companion for the Sony HDC-3170 system camera. It also adds IP live productions capabilities to our full range of broadcast and studio system cameras.
The unit is compatible with Triax systems (its intended use), but with the implementation of the HKCU-FB30 fibre option board, it can be used with Triax and Fibre ststems. This benefits production companies and OB trucks working in stadiums and venues with different transmission systems.
With the installation of the optional 4K / HDR Processor Board HKCU-UHD30, the HDCU-3170 can output 4K signals when connected wiht an HDC-Series System Camera.
Adding the optional 12G-SDI Interface Kit HKCU-SDI30 allows transfer of 4K signals through a single BNC cable.
Connecting compatible cameras via Triax cable allows the compact (1.5U) HDCU-3170 supplies power to the camera, performs signal processing and provides an interface with external equipment.
The optional boards and kits allow support to the HDCU-3170 for various interfaces such as 3G SDI and IP. The CCU can provide simultaneous outputs of HD, HDR and SDR when used with HDC-3170 series system cameras.
Combined with the HKCU-SFP30 option board, designed for the SMPTE ST 2110 Professional Media Over Managed IP Network suite of standards, the HDCU-3170 CCU supports essential functionalities required for live IP production including tally, intercom and return.

High quality long distance signal transmission: Adding the optional HKCU-SFP30 supports long distance signal transmission up to 10km over single mode fibre. Making the CCU ideal for space-limited environments such as OB vehicles.
