Sound Devices MM-1 – Portable Microphone Preamplifier

The Sound Devices MM-1 is a compact, battery-powered single-channel microphone preamplifier with integrated headphone monitoring, designed for broadcast, television, radio and production applications.

Its high-performance transformer-balanced input and output provide clean, low-noise, low-distortion gain, while flexible microphone powering supports 48 V or 12 V phantom power and 12 V T-power. An unclippable dual-stage limiter and two-position high-pass filter provide additional control and protection.

The MM-1's versatile headphone monitor allows users to monitor both microphone audio and external audio sources, making it particularly useful for communications channels, mix-minus feeds and announce booths.

Built for professional use, the MM-1 features a durable aluminium chassis, machined controls and panel-mounted connectors. It can be powered by two AA batteries or an external 5–17 VDC power source.
