The Sound Devices HX-3 is a compact, professional headphone distribution amplifier that provides three high-performance stereo headphone feeds, each with an individual level control. Designed for radio, television, film and music production, it delivers high headphone output levels with exceptionally low noise and distortion. The HX-3 accepts balanced XLR line-level inputs as well as unbalanced ¼-inch and ⅛-inch stereo sources. A ¼-inch loop output allows multiple HX-3 units to be connected together when additional headphone feeds are required. Built for both field and studio use, the HX-3 features a durable aluminium chassis and can be powered by two AA batteries or an external 5–18 VDC supply.
